Used for the rose oil industry in Bulgaria, this species of rose is originally from the Near East and Middle East (Turkey
or Syria). Rose water was used for rinsing the hands in Renaissance Italy and in Elizabethan England. The scent of rose was
a particular favorite of Queen Elizabeth I.
